ClearWay Minnesota is an independent, nonprofit organization that improves the health of all Minnesotans by reducing tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke through research, action and collaboration. The Research Department at ClearWay Minnesota conducts research in a variety of capacities, including the Minnesota Adult Tobacco Survey (MATS), a large, statewide survey to assess tobacco use. ClearWay Minnesota also funds many competitive research projects around the state. The research done within ClearWay and by ClearWay research grantees has helped us to better understand tobacco use, addiction and treatment within the state of Minnesota and many of Minnesota’s priority populations.
