Students involved in research can present their work at the Fall Undergraduate Research Festival (FURF), held December 8 from 4:30-6:30pm in the University Capitol Centre, 2nd fl. This conference is co-hosted by the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates, University Honors Program, Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of the Provost, and the Graduate College. Students supported by a ICRU award will be presenting their research, but other University of Iowa undergraduates, especially those completing honors theses or projects, are encouraged to join the forum by presenting their research. The Festival is open to all students from all disciplines.
FURF allows students to highlight what they have accomplished, share their work with others, and gain presentation experience. Students present their work in a poster format, which is a common format used at professional meetings and provides an open forum for discussion. Please see the ICRU website under presentation resources section for "How to make a poster." In addition, the Research Ambassadors are hosting a "How to make a Professional Poster" session on Thursday, Nov 18 and Monday, Nov. 29 both from 7-8pm in the South Commons, 3rd fl., Blank Honors Center.
All presenters MUST register for the festival. However students do not have to submit their poster online for the registration. If students do not have a poster ready, simply skip that question. A pdf of the poster can be added at anytime. Furthermore, posters can represent either fully completed or partically completed research projects.
After submissions have been accepted, presenters will be listed in the following categories listed below. Please check back to see the updated schedule and list of presenters.
