Abstract
Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies have been improving design processes, construction methods and replacing traditional building processes and human labor. CAM technologies, such as Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) technology allows files that are created in the modeling software to be transferred to an automated machine that produces the piece. This project involves a series of design steps that begin with an idea, sketched and developed with 3d modeling software. The digital file is then transferred to an automated machine and cut from sustainable material, in order to create functional furniture.
