Abstract
Spray drying is a one-step, easily scaled-up process to create dry powder aerosols. The overall goal of this project is to create aerosols to be inhaled into the lungs to treat bacterial infections. In this study, solutions of antibiotic ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, dispersion compound glutamic acid, and flow property improvement excipient L-leucine were spray dried via a factorial design of experiment.
