Proceedings in Obstetrics and Gynecology Editor-in-Chief Dr. Kimberly K. Leslie has been elected to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Council on Councils, a body that directly advises the NIH Director. Dr. Leslie, MD, is chair and departmental executive office for the UI Carver College of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Iowa City, Iowa. Additionally, in 2014 she and colleagues in the department co-founded Immortagen, which is developing a range of products and services to help oncologists provide patients personalized cancer care using the results of genetic testing of their tumors.

Thomas M. Gellhaus, M.D. has been elected “President Elect in Nomination” of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His term as President of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists will begin in 2016. The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is the premiere organization in obstetrics and gynecology and has over 55,000 members and is the nation’s leading group of professionals providing health care for women.

Colleen Stockdale, MD, MS, has been named the 2014 Best Consulting Provider by University of Iowa Physicians This award is given to an individual in recognition of his or her outstanding consulting or specialized services to the inpatient and ambulatory surgery patients of UI Health Care. Dr. Stockdale’s unique area of interest is lower genital tract disease, predominately vulvar vaginal diseases. She estimates that there are approximately 20 clinics in the United Sates that specifically treat vulvar vaginal diseases.
