From the Editor
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Welcome to the third issue of our online publication, Proceedings in Obstetrics and Gynecology! Our journal is peer-reviewed, and we invite your interest and future submissions.
Our eventual goal is to become listed in PubMed, so your support in submitting the most interesting clinical studies, reviews and basic research manuscripts is particularly valuable as we move forward. In addition to full length articles, we will publish case reports and interesting clinical cases for review by one of our faculty experts. Please see our instructions for authors and instructions for clinical cases/case reports templates.
Since publishing our second issue, we welcomed two outstanding members to our editorial board, David Bender, MD, and Stephen K. Hunter, MD, PhD, both from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Bender’s specialty is in gynecologic oncology, and he will be organizing the first issue of our second volume, which focuses gynecologic oncology and is due out July 2011. Dr. Hunter specializes in maternal and fetal medicine and is also the new Maternal & Fetal Medicine Division Director. Also joining the Proceedings in Obstetrics and Gynecology editorial team as our Scientific Associate Editor is Kristina W. Thiel, PhD, a scientific writer and editor at the University of Iowa.
A new feature in this issue is the Editorial Board Spotlight in which we highlight the biography and achievements of our editorial board members. For this issue, we spotlight Dr. Hunter as one of the newest members of the Editorial Board. Dr. Bender’s profile will be a part of Volume 2, Issue 1, on gynecologic oncology.
On behalf of the Editorial Board including Susan Schwartz-Rogers, the Managing Editor, welcome to Proceeding in Obstetrics and Gynecology! We hope you enjoy our current issue.
Sincerely,
Kimberly K. Leslie, M.D. Professor and Head The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology The University of Iowa
