Welcome to the fourth issue of the second volume of Proceedings in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our journal is a forum for obstetrics and gynecology practice internationally as evidenced by the piece by Dr. Rene Genadry on fistulas in the developing world and case reports from India and Turkey. We also strive to showcase the world class care that is provided by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
We are currently soliciting articles for an upcoming issue on pre-eclampsia, which is guest edited by Dr. Mark Santillan. Please contact the Managing Editor, Susan Schwartz-Rogers (s-schwartz-rogers@uiowa.edu) if you have an article that is appropriate for this issue.
Our journal is peer-reviewed, and we invite your interest and future submissions. Our eventual goal is to become indexed in Medline, so your support in submitting the most interesting clinical studies, reviews and basic research manuscripts is particularly valuable as we move forward. We see one of the main goals of our journal to be providing a forum for the publishing of case reports.
On behalf of the Editorial Board and Susan Schwartz-Rogers, Managing Editor, welcome to Proceeding in Obstetrics and Gynecology! We hope you enjoy our current issue.
Sincerely,
Kimberly K. Leslie, M.D. Professor and Head The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology The University of Iowa
