Notes

In Iphigenia, the color pink represented blood and violence. When a girl in Juarez goes missing or is found dead, family and friends will paint a pink cross to remember her and how she dies. This was used in the design to subvert the association of pink with femininity in favor of a connotation of cruelty and injustice.
