Examines Whitman's many comments on bookmaking in his conversations with Horace Traubel during the final four years of his life, including the poet?s views on various publishers, printers, and binders as well as his views on typesetting, page design, proofreading, inking, title pages, and other material aspects of the bookmaking art; concludes with some examples of Traubel's views on bookmaking.
