Description

Kendall Heitzman is Assistant Professor of Japanese Literature at the University of Iowa, where he teaches courses on Japanese literature, film, theater, and translation. He holds a PhD in modern Japanese literature from Yale University. He is working on a monograph about the postwar writer Yasuoka Shōtarō (1920-2013) and the writer's relationship to history and memory, and articles about war stories by the contemporary writers Murakami Ryū and Shimada Masahiko.
