A steady state eutrophication model for lakes

An alternate approach to eutrophication modeling is developed via simplifying assumptions of the kinetic and transport equations. Both steady state and nonsteady state cases are investigated for a short detention time reservoir in Central Texas, Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, and a long detention time Great Lake, Lake Ontario. The steady state solution to 81 of the phosphorus limited lakes of the U. S. National Eutrophication Survey is also discussed.
