Here are examples of my character designs for the Follies. Pictured in the top row is Heidi Schiller both in the 1920s as a show girl, and 50 years later in the 70’s as a mature woman. My inspiration for Heidi came a focus on maturation not only with her physically body, but with her costume as well. I used elements of her ‘20s costume such as the pastel color and drapery and applied them to her 70’s costume to reflect the elegance that she has gained, but also to remember where she has come from. The bottom row features Dimitri Weismann ran the Follies shows and is still the ringleader of the gathering. His costume features a red and black brocade tuxedo jacket. Next to him is Carlotta who was one the showgirls and has become very well known in the entertainment industry.
