Bit-mapped classifiers are used to represent topographic form found within a nine point data window. Inductive procedures evaluate the knowledge stored in these structures to place each data point into a hydrologic category and link the resulting structures into a topological data structure. These structures are then directly incorporated into a triangular tesselation of a drainage basin.
