Abstract

Cassidy Bell shares the story of how the Winter Farmers Market was created, while our project is enhanced through the stories of Iowa farmers Dale Buch and Karina Kyall, and vendor Richard Wyciskalla.

Our project enlightens the story of the Winter Farmers Market in hopes to increase public knowledge. The Iowa City Farmers Market that regularly lines the streets of downtown in the summer is always a success, so University of Iowa student Cassidy Bell decided that the Market should take the next step. Through the stories of local farmers, Dale Buch and Karina Kyall we are promoted the goods that can be sold in the winter. The Winter Farmers Market offers other non-food vendors such as Richard Wyciskalla, who sells his homemade candles and jewelery.
