Abstract

Caroline Found, a former student of West High School in Iowa City was tragically killed in a moped accident, but her story still affects people today.

Our group focused on a tragic story hidden behind one of the benches outside Formosa restaurant. Caroline Found was a great young setter on Iowa City West High School's volleyball team.

Unfortunately, on October 11, 2011, she was traveling down Mormon Trek Boulevard in Iowa City on her moped and crashed into a tree when she was not wearing a helmet. She passed away due to a fatal moped accident at the age of 17. Caroline had a positive influence on everyone who was blessed to meet her, but her story is still affecting people today.

We chose to bring this story to the attention of the Iowa City community not only commemorate Caroline's life, but to promote helmet safety.
