Abstract

Discovering how Rusty is significant to Iowa City.

We decided to discover the truth about Rusty the sloth. We wanted to know how he is significant to Iowa City and the student community. Throughout our research, we discovered that he is a Jefferson sloth that roamed around the Midwest during the ice age around 10,00 years ago. He stands almost ten feet tall in MacBride Hall and is one of the main exhibits there. We discovered many interesting facts and how significant he really is. We learned he is not just another exhibit in the museum, but more so the mascot.
