In the spring of 2008, a late snow melt and heavy spring rain led the Iowa City River to flood jeopardizing the future of the University of Iowa's Voxman Music Building. As the waves receded, it became apparent that the future of the music program was just as unpredictable as the flood itself. Without government aid, the university rallied and moved the Voxman Music Building to the corner of Clinton and Burlington Street. This will keep the building away from the Iowa City River and will make sure that no other natural disasters cause any more damages to the new building. In the face of adversity the university persevered and became better and stronger than ever.
