About the Cover Image
Our cover images, front and back, are "Liminal Icon XCIX and CV" (1989). These are works in acrylic on board, 10" x 9" in both cases, by Hans Breder, who directs the courses in Multimedia and Video Art for the MFA Program in Art at The University of Iowa. Professor Breder, who is originally from Germany, has work in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. His work was also represented in the Whitney Biennial Exhibitions of 1987 and 1989, and in a group exhibition of contemporary American art, "Painting Beyond the Death of Painting," in Moscow, 1989.
