About the Cover Image
James Lechay, now of Wellfleet, Mass., has had paintings exhibited in a wide range of museums, including the Metropolitan and Whitney in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, the Corcoran in Washington, the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, the Toledo Museum of Art, the Denver Art Museum, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and the Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. For 30 years he was Professor of Art at the University of Iowa. The painting displayed on this cover, by his permission, is oil on canvas, 30" x 33", and was photographed by Jon Van Allen. Its title is "View from the Studio at Samos."
